There is no better way to replace missing teeth than the way we do it here at Contemporary Dental Implant Centre. You get new teeth that look and feel like your natural ones. Most patients are able to take advantage of this state-of-the-art tooth replacement, but one qualification that is vital is that your jaw bone is thick and strong enough to support the implant. Fortunately, if it isn’t, bone grafting can be done to ensure that you are able to enjoy the comfort and cosmetic pluses that implant technology offers.

There are two reasons why you might need bone grafting. Some people just don’t have a jaw bone that is naturally sufficient for accepting a dental implant. And still others have suffered atrophy of bone tissue from a prolonged period where one or more of your teeth and the roots are missing. In either instance, our Stratford dentist has the answer. Bone grafting is a procedure that consists of harvesting bone from elsewhere in your body, or obtaining it from a tissue bank, and then transplanting it into your jaw. Over the course of several months, new bone tissue will grow around what was grafted. This will result in a thicker and stronger base of bone in which your implant post can be surgically placed by our Stratford dentist. This is known as a minor bone graft. There are also major bone grafts, which are done to repair defects in your jaws due to traumatic injuries, tumor surgery, or congenital defects. With regard to bone grafting as it relates to promoting the use of a dental implant, once the new bone has grown in properly, you will be just as qualified for implants as anyone else.

Our Stratford dentist wants you to have the best teeth replacement available, and that’s why we’re so pleased to offer bone grafting to make that a reality for you. Why not schedule a consultation today to get started on replacing those lost teeth?
