Extractions in Midtown
Welcome to Contemporary Dental Implant Centre. We perform Midtown extractions as well as traditional dental care for patients experiencing tooth pain and other dental problems. Tooth pain can stem from a variety of different dental problems, such as cavities, wisdom teeth impaction, or gum disease. An extraction is usually painless and done quickly so that you experience as little discomfort as possible. A short healing period is usually given, anywhere from 1-2 days.
Midtown Extractions
A toothache is usually the result of tooth decay, a common problem that can happen when plaque and tartar eat away at the tooth. If the toothache becomes more severe it may require a root canal procedure in order to save it. Tooth pain usually comes in the form of sensitivity to hot or cold foods, pain and swelling. If the tooth cannot be saved with a root canal, we may need to perform an extraction. Midtown extractions are done in our offices and in a timely manner so that you are always in and out. An extraction is nothing to worry about, we use anesthetics so that the patient feels no pain. Swelling may occur after, as well as bleeding, and gauze should be used to stop bleeding. Patients can use ice to stop the swelling and pain.
A toothache could signal a worse problem that may lead to tooth loss if it is not dealt with. Severe pain may signal an abscess, or a tooth infection. Infections can be dangerous and should be treated as soon as possible to avoid Midtown extractions. If a cavity has caused tooth decay we may suggest that the patient receive an endodontic, or root canal, procedure. The tooth is cleaned and sealed at the end of the procedure, and a crown or cap placed over the tooth to protect it.
