Meet Dr. Tavelin

Dr. David Tavelin has been associated with our practice since 2001. He received his D.D.S. with honors at the Columbia University College of Dental Medicine and went on to continue his training at the James J. Peters/Bronx VA Hospital where he focused on dental implants, cosmetics and the treatment of medically compromised patients. He has since taken numerous continuing education courses in grafting bone, sinus lifting and other procedures that make for successful dental implant therapy. In this pursuit, Dr Tavelin was awarded Diplomate status by the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI) – the organization’s highest credential.

In addition to private practice, Dr. Tavelin has been published in several texts and has held numerous leadership and editorial positions with the American Dental Association. He is a former didactic instructor and now a guest lecturer at Columbia University’s College of Dental Medicine. He also participates in the homeless veterans dental care program at the Bronx Veterans Administration hospital in New York City, helping to give formerly homeless vets a new lease on life.
